Abettor formed in Larnaca in the late summer of 2013. The quintet’s shared vision has been to push the boundaries of rock by seamlessly blending traditional and non-traditional genres of music to create an idiosyncratic sound. Abettor’s identity lies in their unique fusion of dark, heavy riffs infused with melodic, haunting hooks, ambient post-rock and electronica. The band offers listeners a musical roller-coaster with atmospheric melodies and climaxes featuring hints of Progressive, Grunge, Stoner and hypnotising Trip Hop. Abettor released their first EP, “Time Thief”, in 2016 and launched their debut album, “Rinse & Repeat”, in 2020. Their third release, “Swept in Amnesia” presents listeners with a more experimental sound featuring groovy basslines, haunting lyrics and harmonies, and peaks and valleys. It marks the start of a new era for Abettor. Although the band itself has an incredibly distinct, cohesive sound that resonates throughout their existing catalogue of music, this EP makes a clear statement that they have evolved and matured as musicians without sacrificing their unique identity and original DNA.
