ΠΛΗΡΗ ΝΤΑΞΕΙ (GR)

“Pliri Ntaxei” were formed in 2012 out of the common interest of its members for the rempetiko song. From the very beginning they shaped their repertoire based mainly on songs from the 20s and 30s. Since then they have been performing around their hometown Thessaloniki as well as across other Greek cities. They have supported Heimerinoi Kolymvites and Giannis Aggelakas.

The band’s focus is mainly in the rendition of songs and instrumentals from the rich folk tradition and rempetiko, as well as composing new pieces, based on the traditional forms.

“Pliri Ntaxei” have released their debut album in November 2013. The record comprises of nine songs and one instrumental tune. On the 3rd of August they will close the Fengaros Festival performing songs from that record, songs from the new record, currently being recorded, as well as rempetiko songs, mainly from the prewar era.
