Alexis Sunder is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose sound offers fresh impressions on retro vibes, through a blend of soul and funk grooves and pop-rock elements. His eponymous debut EP, released in 2022, plays on the dissonance between sunny melodies and darker themes to create a groove-driven exploration for deeper understanding of emotions, thoughts and connections, delivered through vocals steeped in 1970s blue-eyed soul, funk and pop. Born in the UK, raised in Cyprus and with stints in France and Belgium, Sunder has been playing in venues across Cyprus for the past year, with live shows delivering moments of intimate slow jam melodies and funk-infused dance intensity. Sunder’s live band (SunderCats) consists of himself on vocals and guitar, Andreas Epaminondas on lead guitar, Andreas Papageorgiou on bass, Pavlos Daniel Loucaides on keyboards and Fragkiskos Petrides on drums.
