Barking Cats Radio is a new collective platform, devoted to the cultural movement surrounding the underground electronic scene worldwide. The idea was born in Nicosia, Cyprus by Alekkos Papachristoforou, George Philippou, Pantelis Drousiotis and Stavros Georgiou in November 2020, who proudly put together, piece by piece the Barking Cats online radio and studio.
The core of the collective is the online Barking Cats Radio, accessible by any curious listener around the world, 24/7. The radio focuses on reviving the radio-culture movement, and in doing so, promotes not only local talent and artists, but underground electronic scenes worldwide. It features weekly residents, and hosts guests from the full spectrum of underground electronic genres.
In parallel, Barking Cats has a physical studio located in the heart of Nicosia. It is always open as a space for collaborations and ideas to be born, and is excited to host events, parties and various workshops with local artists who share our vision. We see the studio as a way to bring together like-minded people, and a space to help the underground electronic scene in Cyprus to grow and evolve. Barking Cats is here to support, encourage and promote new, established and upcoming artists.
