Addressed to musicians of all instruments, the workshop will cover all effects - from the widely-known distortion, delay and reverb, to more ‘out there’ filters such as ring modulators and bit crushers. All sorts of sound sources will be touched upon, ranging from acoustic and electric instruments to no-input self-generating applications. Topics will include the pros and cons of analog and digital effects, choosing between laptop software or standalone hardware devices, and exploring live looping and sampling techniques. Technical issues will also be addressed such as converting from acoustic to electric instruments, choosing the correct audio and power connections, as well as amplifying the end signal (amps, DIs, mixers etc).

This workshop is addressed to all musicians, regardless of instrument or experience, and aims to introduce them to the multiverse of effect pedals, loopers and sound generators with special attention given to their live applications.

Το εργαστήρι απευθύνεται σε μουσικούς, ανεξαρτήτως μουσικού οργάνου και εμπειρίας, και έχει ως στόχο την εισαγωγή, ανάλυση και εμβάθυνση στον κόσμο των εφέ όπως πεταλιών, λουπαδόρων και signal generators. Οι συμμετέχοντες θα εξερευνήσουν το μεγαλύτερο μέρος των εφέ, από τα κλασικά και γνωστά distortion, delay και reverb, μέχρι τα πιο ιδιαίτερα και ‘θορυβώδη’ όπως filters, ring modulators και bit crushers. Θα αναπτυχθούν θέματα όπως τα θετικά και αρνητικά των αναλογικών και των ψηφιακών εφέ, τη χρήση τους μέσα από laptop ή hardware συσκευές καθώς και εκτενή ανάλυση του λουπαδόρου, τεχνικών live-looping και live-sampling. Θα αναλυθούν επίσης τεχνικά ζητήματα όπως τρόποι μετατροπής ενος ακουστικού οργάνου σε ηλεκτρικό, η σωστή συνδεσμολογία, τροφοδοσία των εφέ και ενίσχυση του τελικού σήματος (ενισχυτές οργάνων, DI, κονσόλα κ.ά.).

Το εργαστήρι απευθύνεται σε άτομα που δραστηριοποιούνται στη μουσική, ανεξαρτήτως μουσικού οργάνου και εμπειρίας, που επιθυμούν να εξερευνήσουν τον κόσμο των εφέ.

This workshop is addressed to musicians, regardless of instrument or level of experience, and aims to provide an introduction to, analysis of, and in-depth exploration of live-looping practices as a tool for practice, composition, improvisation, and performance. Participants will become familiar with the basic principles of looping, from simple recording and playback of phrases to the creation of multi-layered structures in real time.

This workshop is addressed to all musicians, regardless of instrument or experience, and aims to introduce them to live looping.

Το εργαστήρι απευθύνεται σε μουσικούς, ανεξαρτήτως μουσικού οργάνου και εμπειρίας, και έχει ως στόχο την εισαγωγή, ανάλυση και εμβάθυνση στις πρακτικές του live-looping ως εργαλείου μελέτης, σύνθεσης, αυτοσχεδιασμού και performance. Οι συμμετέχοντες θα γνωρίσουν τις βασικές αρχές της λούπας, από την απλή ηχογράφηση και αναπαραγωγή φράσεων, έως τη δημιουργία πολυεπίπεδων δομών σε πραγματικό χρόνο.

Το εργαστήρι απευθύνεται σε άτομα που δραστηριοποιούνται στη μουσική, ανεξαρτήτως μουσικού οργάνου και εμπειρίας, που επιθυμούν να εξερευνήσουν τον κόσμο του live looping.
Bio Βιογραφικό

Jannis Anastasakis (b.1984) is considered to be in a league of his own as a guitar player in Greece. His unique, in-depth approach of the effects (he is also the founder of the JAM pedals company) and the guitar as an ambient sound generator, results in a very personal sound and delivery that sets him apart from all other players in his country. He is coming up with unique and fresh sounds that take the music from ambient to psychedelic and off limits to new territory!


He has collaborated with: Arve Henriksen, Eivind Aarset, Christian Fennesz, Haig Yazdjian, Giuseppe Doronzo, Thodoris Rellos, Michalis Siganidis, Dionysis Savvopoulos, Harris Lambrakis, Savina Yannatou, Floros Floridis, Lena Platonos etc and he has also worked with directors dancers and choreographers (Thodoris Abazis, La Coja Danca etc). He also performs with his personal projects, “Elektronik Meditation”, “Sound of Color”.

Ο Γιάννης Αναστασάκης (γεν.1984) χαρακτηρίζεται για την ιδιαίτερη του προσέγγιση στην κιθάρα, ως γεννήτρια πρωτότυπων και ατμοσφαιρικών ήχων καθώς και για την ενασχόλησή του σε βάθος με τα εφέ (είναι επίσης o ιδρυτής της εταιρείας JAM pedals). Η μουσική του είναι ένα κράμα ambient και ψυχεδέλειας που ισορροπεί μεταξύ μελωδίας και θορύβου, ξεπερνώντας πολλές φορές τα "επιτρεπτά" όρια.


Έχει συνεργαστεί με καλλιτέχνες της ελληνικής και παγκόσμιας μουσικής σκηνής (Arve Henriksen, Eivind Aarset, Christian Fennesz, Haig Yazdjian, Giuseppe Doronzo, Θοδωρή Ρέλλο, Μιχάλη Σιγανίδη, Διονύση Σαββόπουλο, Χάρη Λαμπράκη, Σαβίνα Γιαννάτου, Λένα Πλάτωνος, Φλώρο Φλωρίδη κ.α.) αλλά και με σκηνοθέτες χορευτές και χορογράφους (Θοδωρής Αμπαζής, La Coja Danca κ.α.). Επίσης δραστηριοποιείται με προσωπικά του project (“Elektronik Meditation” & “Sound of Color”).
