Founded by Greek-born singer, film scorer, and composer Magda Giannikou, Banda Magda moves from samba to French chanson, from Greek folk tunes to Colombian cumbia and Afro-Peruvian lando. Their songs capture the best of mid-century pop ballads and cinematic arranging, drawing on the band’s global background and unchained musicality. Trained in film scoring at Berklee, Giannikou’s film music finesse has won her awards and caught the attention of everyone from Kronos Quartet to Snarky Puppy to comedian Louis CK. Live, Banda Magda bursts with humor and quirky sensibility, powered by an unflagging energy!

After their concerts and in Greece and abroad Villagers of Ioannina City, are coming to rock Cyprus with electric guitar, bass, drums and traditional Northern Greece clarine, with sounds that marry psychedelic post rock with tradition. They were formed in 2007 and have been gigging since. They have released a promo CD in 2010m while their first complete album, entitled “Riza” was released in April 2014 gaining great reputation and critical acclaim. A few months later they released the EP “Zvara/Karakolia”.

Bunty is a vocal juggler, beat merchant and improviser from Brighton. Will play a rare stripped back vocal loop set.

The Glitch Lucherience are a fresh rock trio from Limassol, who attempt to deliver the best possible distillation of their influences, ranging from stoner, experimental and rock music. The group consists of Giorgos - Shuffle - Papacostas (bass), Giorgos Kalakatsounas (electric guitar) and Marinos Theodosiou on drums.

A mental vocal innovator, a virtuoso guitarist/composer and a synth-obsessed viola player... Le Juki are never usual. Kassia Zermon, Lee Westwood, and Jules Arthur have come together to play you songs full of frayed string melodies and twisted synthesizers. Toybox beats and violas sing of the sea and stick insects, with beautiful soaring strings and crashing skiffle-based percussion. Treasure trove tunes for wretched folk... Referencing classical, prog, grime and psych-folk, Le Juki blend lush harmonies and progressive song structures with a child-like simplicity. J. Forbes is a band formed by Orestis Savva in 2014, performing their own explosive blues-rock compositions. On stage, Orestis (guitar/Vocals) is joined by Nicolas Melis (keys), Stephanos Meletiou (drums), Panagiotis Ashikkis (bass) and Loizos Paphitis (guitar).

Tony spent a lot of time in the country, listening to birds, lying next to a spring and listening to water go across the rocks. And suddenly one day he realised, what perfect music!

The Cave Children are a four-piece psychedelic pop band from Athens, Greece. They came together as a band in 2013, focusing their songwriting on memorable dreamy pop music. Shimmering melodies, cinematic themes and raw garage rock outbursts are blended, and used to accompany existential and sarcastic lyrics.

Abettor was formed towards the end of the summer of 2013 with aspirations of pushing the rock music envelope not only in Cyprus, but also abroad. Abettor are devoted to writing original compositions, spanning from churning rock riffs and melodic hooks to more elaborate rhythmic patterns and ambient sounds. Abettor share the vision of combining older, traditional rock sounds with more progressive and modern elements, fusing heavy music with other non-stereotypical music genres such as Proggresive, Grunge, Stoner and Trip Hop.

In early 1990, in a time when there was only one TV and radio station on the island, CyBC, a time when music venues were non-existent and generally there was not much happening culturally, the Cypriot rock band “To Marazi tis Fotoullas’ appeared in the foreground, mocking the Cyprus reality through its music. Years went by, and the bandmembers’ paths brought the back together, and they are once again here, mocking the Cyprus reality as if one day hasn’t gone by, with the melancholy (marazi), the sadness, the insecurity and the misery oppressing the collective mind and our thoughts. They are again making music together hoping to transform the melancholy into light.

Alexia Chatzistavrou is a singer, songwriter who has been living in France for the past four years. She has been in collaboration with painters, dancers and actors and has participated in several projects as a musician and performer. At the festival she will present her own compositions.

J.Kriste, Master of Disguise, opened the very first Fengaros back in September 2011. They return to this years festival, to present new material for the first time, expected for release in the beginning of 2016...

George Kalogirou and his band, will present songs taken both from his discography and the whole of his compositional work. His Mediterranean sound is based on the traditions of Greek and Cypriot music, as well as Greek folk music, using lyrics written by himself, his composer friends and by amateur poets.

A show based on Dimitris Baslam’s music and songs. Songs about the lyrical Gargalistis, the cheerful Agisilagos, the subversive Angry Cement Mixer, the cinematic Baritone, Aristophane’s Pluto and the anecdote “I think I should fly”. A live orchestra of five musicians and will take us on a extrovertjourney from the happy Swimming Fireflies to the dancing Dungarees and the tired Sun, from the yellow Lemonfish to the bulimic, Aunt from Paris. All of these, and many more in a performance for children, mothers, fathers, godfathers, aunties and grandmothers.

Martha Mavroeidi Trio came together in November 2010 and consists of Giorgos Ventouris (double-bass), Vaggelis Karipis (percussion) and Martha Mavroeidi (electrical lafta, sazi, voice). The three musicians draw their inspiration and ideas from the melodically and rhythmically rich music of the Balkans and Eastern Mediterranean, adapting them into a contemporary music idiom.

Formed in 2014 in Nicosia, Cyprus, Sound of Thieves are an experimental electro-soul band, consisting of Phebe Pope on vocals and Jan Bures on electric bass. The band has crafted its unique sound through the use of various musical techniques, incorporating live vocals and instruments, live looping and sampling.

Blues, folk and pop vocal harmonies are the elements that consist the sound of this fresh female pop-rock quartet. Its members produce a firm, tight and full sound, that is irresistible. They play their own compositions and are getting ready to record their first album. The group is made up by Zara der Arakelian on vocals, Mikaela Tsangari on guitar and vocals, Afroditi Nikolaou on bass and Marianna Moumdji on drums.

Michael Zambetas, grandson of the great George Zambetas, and his band, “Michael Zambetas Jr. Band” will perform instrumental songs freshly written by Michalis in the past year influenced by the blues, rock and reggae. Joining him on stage are Nicolas Genethliou on keys, Stathis Hadjicharalambous on electric guitar, Ioannis Karseras on bass and Alexander Papadopoulos on drums.

Her name is Anastasia and she is 16 years old. She’s been singing for as long as she can remember, plays the guitar and loves expressing herself through songwriting. His name is Mohammed, he is 18 years old, he also plays the guitar, and produces his own music. Together, they are 2AM, a pop-r’n’b power duo, performing beautiful songs in a chilled-out stripped set, carried out by Anastasia’s stunning voice.

A group of voices, who were brought together after Fengaros Music Village 2014, will perform traditionally-infused, original compositions, as well as adaptations of songs from the Mediterranean Sea and the Balkans. The choir is led by Vasiliki Anastasiou, with the collaboration of Andreas Panteli for the adaptations. A journey which balances between the fresh Mediterranean sound, the echo of the mountains, the Balkans, and the rich sound colors of polyphony, and the capabilities of the human voice.

From blissed-out mantric womb drone to transcendent spectral motorik, this London duo look to levitate their audiences with beautiful forward-thinking melodies and hypnotic electronic rhythms.

Leonidas Koshis performs songs close to his heart, some written by him, some written by others, using his characteristic soft voice and his guitar. With his first album coming out 2 years ago, and a second one in the making, this will be one of his very rare live performances.
