Stylistic Decisions in Orchestration
Composition, orchestration and production are the three steps that a musical work must complete before it reaches the audience. Their relationship is interdependent and the deeper and more substantially each of these steps is worked on, the better the overall result will be.
This workshop will deal with the second step: orchestration. Participants will be given compositions to orchestrate during the workshop. Different orchestration techniques such as combinations of instruments and manners of expression will be exhibited, heard and tested by the participants, to examine how these can affect the final result.

Various instruments are welcome and encouraged to participate, since this will add to the wealth of tone colours that may be available to work with. Participants will heighten their stylistic repertoire for arrangement and crafting their sound. It will be helpful for participants to be able to read music and have knowledge of music theory. The results of the workshop will be presented on the final day of Fengaros Music Village.

Στυλιστικές Επιλογές στην Ενορχήστρωση
Η σύνθεση, η ενορχήστρωση και η παραγωγή είναι τα τρία στάδια τα οποία διανύει ένα μουσικό έργο για να ολοκληρωθεί πριν φτάσει στον ακροατή. Η σχέση τους είναι αλληλοεξαρτώμενη και όσο πιο βαθιά και ουσιαστικά δουλευτεί το κάθε ένα από αυτά τα στάδια τόσο καλύτερο το τελικό αποτέλεσμα.
Το εργαστήρι θα ασχοληθεί με το δεύτερο στάδιο, την ενορχήστρωση. Στους συμμετέχοντες θα δοθούν συνθέσεις οι οποίες θα ενορχηστρωθούν τις ημέρες του εργαστηρίου. Θα αναλυθούν διάφορες τεχνικές ενορχήστρωσης, ενώ οι συμμετέχοντες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να ακούσουν πώς ο διαφορετικός συνδυασμός των οργάνων αλλά και ο τρόπος έκφρασής του κάθε μουσικού, μπορούν να επηρεάσουν το τελικό αποτέλεσμα.
Στο εργαστήρι μπορούν να λάβουν μέρος πολλά και διαφορετικά όργανα το οποίο θα εμπλουτίσει τις επιλογές ηχοχρωμάτων. Τους συμμετέχοντες θα βοηθήσει η βασική γνώση ανάγνωσης παρτιτούρας και θεωρίας της μουσικής.
Το εργαστήρι απευθύνεται σε μουσικούς που παίζουν οποιοδήποτε όργανο και ενδιαφέρονται για την ενορχήστρωση.
About Babis Papadopoulos
Babis Papadopoulos is a Greek musician, composer and guitarist. He is well-known as the guitarist for the rock band Trypes and has composed many of their songs. In 2008 he released his debut solo album, marking the beginning of his solo record releases, the fifth of which was released in October 2019. Papadopoulos has composed music for theatre and film, and has performed with various projects including: Babis Papadopoulos Electric Solo, Basenezmen, Babis Papadopoulos Trio and Babis Papadopoulos Acoustic Set. His production and arrangement credits appear on albums by Thanasis Papakonstantinou and Socratis Malamas. He is also a member of the Greek band Cheimerinoi Kolymvites.
Μπάμπης Παπαδόπουλος - Βιογραφικό
Ο Μπάμπης Παπαδόπουλος είναι Έλληνας μουσικός, συνθέτης και κιθαρίστας. Έγινε περισσότερο γνωστός ως ο κιθαρίστας του συγκροτήματος Τρύπες, ενώ μάλιστα αρκετά από τα τραγούδια της μπάντας αποτελούν δικές του συνθέσεις. Την άνοιξη του 2008 κυκλοφόρησε το πρώτο του προσωπικό άλμπουμ, με το οποίο ξεκίνησε η προσωπική του δισκογραφική διαδρομή και μέχρι το 2019 έχει δημιουργήσει άλλους τέσσερις δίσκους. Ο Παπαδόπουλος έχει συνθέσει μουσική για θέατρο και κινηματογράφο, ενώ παρουσιάζει τη δουλειά του σε συναυλίες μέσω διαφόρων projects όπως το Μπάμπης Παπαδόπουλος Electric Solo, τους Basenezmen, το Μπάμπης Παπαδόπουλος Τρίο και το Μπάμπης Παπαδόπουλος Acoustic Set. Επιπλέον η δουλειά του εμφανίζεται σε άλμπουμ του Θανάση Παπακωνσταντίνου και του Σωκράτη Μάλαμα, ενώ αποτελεί μέλος του συγκροτήματος Χειμερινοί Κολυμβητές.
