Sophie Fetokaki has been lucky enough to encounter the rich song traditions of a variety of musical cultures. In her vocal performances she assembles these gathered treasures, gems from places including Cyprus and Greece, the British Isles, the U.S., Brazil, Portugal, Iceland and Mexico. She combines these with her own intimate and reflective songs, which explore the sweet-bitter pleasures of love, loss and transformation. After studying a variety of musical styles, she has returned to the song form, the site of her initial encounter with music, to share and to celebrate this vast wealth of knowledge, beauty and wisdom. She is currently gathering this material together for her debut album "Abundance" with Louvana Records.
